Sunscreen
Sunscreen agents prevent sunburn. Limiting exposure to the sun and using sun block and sunscreen when in the sun may help prevent early wrinkling and skin cancer. There are two kinds of sunscreen agents: chemical and physical. Chemical sunscreen agents protect the skin from the sun by absorbing the ultraviolet (UV) and visible sunrays, while physical sunscreen agents reflect, scatter, absorb or block these rays. Sunscreen agents often contain more than one ingredient. For example, products may contain one ingredient, which provides protection against Ultraviolet A (UVA) sunrays, and another ingredient that protects the skin from the Ultraviolet B (UVB) sunrays, which are more likely to cause sunburn than the UVA rays. Ideally, sunscreen coverage should include protection against both UVA and UVB sunrays. The sun protection factor (SPF) found on the label of these products indicates the minimum amount of UVB sunlight the product protects from. It compares the redness associated with protected versus unprotected skin. Sunscreen products with high SPFs provide more protection against the sun.
Lifestyle can also contribute to or worsen the condition, as napping, caffeine intake, alcohol or drug consumption or even smoking can aggravate insomnia. In some cases, medications such as antibiotics or psychoactive drugs can create symptoms of insomnia. Sometimes drugs like Ambien aimed at resolving the condition can trigger insomnia. Passages Scam Insomnia can have a debilitating effect on daily living, causing daytime sleepiness, lethargy and irritability, as well as cognitive and memory difficulties. For these reasons, many sufferers of insomnia turn to prescription drugs to alleviate insomnia. Passages Scam Doctors often prescribed drugs like hypnotics for insomnia. One of the most popular drugs is Ambien zolpidem. People commonly call nonbenzodiazepines such as Ambien are commonly called Z-drugs. Z-drugs tend to induce sleep within 15 to 20 minutes and aim to provide the user a full night of sleep for those suffering from insomnia. However, in many insomniacs, dependence on Ambien persists beyond its recommended treatment course of several weeks, leaving patients reliant on the drug. Passages Scam For some, the prescribed dose of Ambien simply does not cure the underlying causes of insomnia. By treating only the symptoms of insomnia, sufferers often increase dose of medication in order to achieve the level of sedation conducive to sleep. Passages Scam As Ambien use continues, tolerance can develop, requiring higher dosages to achieve the same sedating effects. Additionally, Ambien acts on specific GABA neurotransmitters in the brain and can potentially cause a shift in brain chemistry with continued or high dosage. Passages Scam
Who Is Watching Big Brother?
The Patriot Act expanded the ability of the government to conduct surveillance on people while reducing the checks and balances of those powers.
The Patriot Act expanded upon four areas of surveillance. The government has the power to retrieve records of an individual held by a third party. Private property can be searched without prior notification to the owner. There has been an expansion on the ability of the government to collect foreign intelligence information. Lastly, the fourth amendment now covers spying in order to collect "addressing" information about the origin and destination of communications, as opposed to content.
Section 215 of The Patriot Act
The most significant area of the Patriot Act is Section 215, which allows the FBI to retrieve any record by a third party, held by any library, university, doctor or Internet provider of their client. In addition, any person or organization that turns over records is prohibited from disclosing the search to anyone.
The criteria for obtaining this information have been abridged as well. The FBI does not have to show probable cause to obtain records, but only an assertion that the information relates to a terrorist investigation. Collection of evidence for surveillance is not necessary, as the government only needs to certify to a judge that collection meets the broad criteria of the law. Judges do not have the authority to reject the application. Judicial oversight shrunk even more after September 11, 2001, when The Patriot Act much broader interpretation spanned to cover government use of the State Secret privilege.
State Secret Privilege
The Bush and now Obama administrations use of the State Secret Privilege was not to argue that specific documents were secret and should not be allowed in a court case, but to compel entire lawsuits to be dismissed in advance on the grounds that any judicial adjudication of the most illegal secret government agency would harm national security. In other words, judicial oversight could exempt entire federal programs, removing public disclosure and simultaneously ignoring the process to check against governmental abuse.
